LABEL APPROVAL

INDUSTRY

 EXPERTS

The new Food Information to Consumer (FIC) Regulations require fundamental changes to the way that pre-packed foods are labelled in the UK and Europe, and for the first time place a statutory requirement upon food service operators to clearly label the presence of
allergens intentionally added as ingredients to the meals they serve.

The new legal labelling requirements change the way that allergens have to be declared.

Changes in the legal labelling requirements will also affect country of origin labelling, the nutritional declaration and the size of the font for mandatory information.
